24 February: First performance of Handel's opera "Rinaldo" (HWV 7a) in the Queen's Theatre in London's Haymarket. 14 repeats: 27 February, 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20 and 24 March, 11 and 25 April, 5, 9, and 26 May and 2 June. Further performances: London 23, 26 and 29 January, 7, 9, 13 and 23 February, 6 March and 1 April 1712; 6 and 9 May 1713; 30 December 1714; 4, 8, 15, 22, 27 and 29 January, 5, 12 and 19 February and 25 June 1715; 5, 12, 19, 23 and 26 January, 9 February, 9 March, 2 and 18 May and 5 June 1717. – Dublin: March 1711. – Hamburg: 27 November 1715; 27 May 1723. (Hamburg 1723: 10 performances, 1724 2 performances, 1727 and 1730 one performance each.) – Naples: 1 October 1718.

June: After the opera season a short stay in Düsseldorf and, with a letter of apology from Johan Wilhelm Elector of the Palatinate, returns to Hanover.

July: End of the month, a letter from Handel from Hanover to Andreas Roner in London in which, among other things, he tells him that he is making progress learning English.

23 November: Handel becomes the Godfather of his niece Johanna Friederike, who was born on 20 November, daughter of his sister Dorothea Sophia Michaelsen.
