4 June: Arrival in Hanover.
16 June: Handel becomes director of music to the Elector of Hanover (the future King George I of Great Britain).
Autumn: Visit to Halle. Travels to London via Düsseldorf. At the end of November or the beginning of December he arrives in London. First acquaintanceships with, among others, John Heidegger one of the directors of the then Haymarket Theatre, as well as Aaron Hill who made the design and English translation of the Rinaldo libretto.
